1 YEAR MEMORIAL

On Sunday, July 2, we held a memorial for Lori. 15 of us went to church together - the mass intention was for Lori on 7/2 & 7/5. Erik, Wally & Ed presented the gifts together at communion time & I walked behind them hand in hand with Anthony & Isabelle. Both our pastor & deacon who were at the funeral celebrated the mass on Sunday.

We went to the cemetery. It was drizzling on & off. There was loud music playing somewhere in the area. It sounded like Spanish polkas - very lively! At 1st we were annoyed that this music could be playing while we were so sad. Then we decided it was actually Lori's way of telling us to celebrate. That changed everything!!

We placed flowers & pinwheels at the gravesite that now finally had the marker. Erik wanted a special marker made with Lori's image engraved in to the granite. It was ready the week before the anniversary but not in time to get it placed before our memorial. I made several phone calls & made arrangments to pick up the marker & delivered it to the cemetery myself on Friday. Everything was perfect.

We all went back to our house for lunch. It was a very fitting memorial.
