Adopt-A-Cause Walk
5/5/2006
The LAAF walk was a success!
Even though the weather was crummy, we had 60 people show up for the fun, food & festivities. Skates (Wolves mascot) entertained from 9:30 to 10:30. Then Benny the Bull came bounding in to our walk & joined the fun!!
There was a display board with information about LAAF & brain tumors. The board also showed the proclamations we requested and received. A framed display of "The Faces of Tumors" showed past patients and survivors. There also was a framed dedication display of the foundation's namesake. The video 'live, love, laaf' from the Gray Tie Ball 2005 was available for viewing. The walkers all carried gray balloons as a symbol of brain cancer and blue balloons were carried by brain tumor survivors. There were patients, caregivers, families, friends, and even Lori's doctor!
A big thank you to Dr. Jeff Raizer and his family and to our alderwoman Rosemary Argus for joining in the walk.
Another big thank you to all of the volunteers that pitched in to make this event a success! We couldn't have done it without you!
One more step for awareness!!
