Recovery from Surgery and Next Steps

Lori is doing physically well after her long surgery yesterday. Unfortunatley the tumor has recurred. Her surgeon, Dr. Levy, removed approximately 95% of the tumor, but did not go after a second tumor that has now appeared on her frontal lobe. The IL-13 has not worked for Lori, so we will move onto the next clincal trial. We hope to enroll Lori into a phase II clinical trial for a drug called LY317615. It is being studied at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland.
We hope to travel there as early as the end of this week.

We are all devestated by the latest news, but are determined to keep going until we find a way to stop Lori's cancer.

Lori is still in the neuro ICU unit at NMH, but will hopefully be coming home on Wednesday or Thursday evening.
