mri results and lots of other blabbing...
8/24/2004

Hi everyone...things are going very well, emotionally, spiritually, etc. I feel really good over all. As far as health, my mri didn't show much. Specifically, I had the mri last tues and spoke to both docs on thursday. The neuro-onc indicated that there is quite a bit of inflammation again which requires another two week dose of steriods, and the surgeon agreed. We have decided to not get too worried because many patients who have had this procedure have had the same reaction to the infusion. Most don't see a true result until the third mri and I'm only had the first. So, we'll play it by ear as we often do. We have good feeling about everything, we really do.

I'm trying to think if anything else interesting has been going on...this past saturday Erik and I went to his opening of Harper College...it was beautiful and quite spectacular. I knew he was talented but this was beyond!! This weekend we may spend in Milwaukee for another mini get away. And the following after that we are going to spend Labor Day weekend with Eriks family in Pennsylvania.

Can't beleive summer is nearly gone so fast, I wonder if everyone feels that way. I feel like it just started. All the wonderful people that have offered visits for when the weather begins to get cold here, I hope their offers will still good!!

all my love, lori

ps. The most difficult thing I am going thru is the steriods that I have been battling with for about 2 half months now. It has created such discomfort for me, I have gained at least 10 pounds on my small figure. All my clothes are tight and by face is bloated like a moon. For those of you who know me well know how difficult weight is for me, not trivial at all. Wish it was. Looking forward to this dose to be over...it'll take at least a month or more til my weight begins to some what be normal. This and my lack of hair from surgery and radiation, are the most difficult for me. Luckily, bloating goes away and hair grows back (mostly anyway!) and what doesn't my beautiful wig covers.

Okay, one more thing, perhaps the most important...my one year surgery anniversery is this September 5th. Can't beleive it, one year survivor!! Erik always says "only another fifty more!"

Two more things, check my yahoo photo account http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/arquilla_111/my_photos It has the newest scans, pics from our trip to the west coast and the cancer walk.
