Lori is at Peace
7/5/2005

God chose the day after Independance Day to free Lori. She is now lighting up the heavens with the sparkle of her eyes, the brightness of her smile, and the joy of her laughter.

Lori made her transition at 11:11 AM this morning with family at her side.
Linda held her right hand and Lisa her left as I sat at the head of the bed above her, cradling her head in my hands. Her eyes were open and I know she was comforted by our presence. Looking into her eyes I spoke softly telling her over and over it was OK. Our eyes were locked together as she made her transition. Linda and Lisa said she looked at peace as she passed.

Per Lori's wishes we bathed her body and annointed it with frankinsence oil and clothed her in a white silk nightgown and covered her feet with the matching silk robe. By God's grace Margaret and her husband Tony, the harpists from Palliative Care of the North Shore, happen to arrive a half hour after Lori passed. Linda, brother Ed, sister Lisa and her boys Matthew and Jacob, and I gathered around Lori's body as Margaret and Tony played and we prayed. My brother Dane arrived before they finished playing. We noticed that Lori's face displayed a smile when we were done.

She passed 22 months to the day since her first of 5 surgeries. She displayed incredible courage and grace throughout. She continued to smile and laugh through it all and showed me what it means to live in the light.

We will miss her and remember her.

Thank you all for you continued prayers as Lori's spirit moves on.
Lori and I and the family thank all of you for your love and care.
