chemo 2

Lori had her 2nd (out of 4) cpt-11 iv chemo treatment yesterday. She also does an oral chemo every day for 21 days. After the 4th iv treatment she will have an MRI, I am expecting it to be the week of the 13th or the week of the 20th - not sure. She is doing ok with the chemo just tired. She is not talking much better. We are still very hopeful.

The doctor has indicated that there is only one more treatment to try. Erik & the doctor have already talked to the insurance company & they have said they will not pay for it. We have heard that it costs about $8 to $10,000 for 1 month of treatment (that is only 2 iv treatments!!) So we are trying to figure out what to do about that. If it is the last treatment left to try, we would like to give her this last chance. I have called the drug company & we are trying to figure out if there is some way they can help us obtain the drug. We haven't given up yet!!!

On a little different subject - my husband & I are having our 25th wedding anniversary celebration next weekend - 2 months early so Lori can attend. I would really like to find someone who takes pictures at an event like this but does it on the side (not as their main job) so that it is more reasonable. If any of you know of someone like this, please let me know. Thank you.
